Quiet luxury for everyday carry
Australian kangaroo leather. Hand‑finished pieces that stay slim and age with grace

Born in 2015 to help you carry less
Blackinkk began with a single purpose. Create a front pocket wallet that feels refined, works hard and stays slim. Each piece was hand-cut and hand-stitched, tested at markets and improved through real use. That spirit remains. We reduce, refine and earn every millimetre so your daily carry is lighter and simpler.

Blackinkk Philosophy

Less
Less is clarity.
You carry what matters and nothing else. Fewer items in your pocket means less bulk, less rummaging and less friction in your day. It is our filter in design. If a feature does not serve you, it does not stay.

Better
Better is craft you can feel.
Clean lines. Smart folds. Thoughtful pockets that guide your hand. Kangaroo leather that wears in fast and lasts for years. Better means we choose slow improvements over trends so you enjoy consistent quality and a more refined experience.

Forever
Forever is longevity and an ongoing relationship with the piece you choose.
Your wallet or key organiser will mark, soften and carry memories. We support repair and care to extend the life of your product. The goal is simple. Buy once. Use often. Keep it longer.

Recognised For Good Design
Our Bifold Cardholder was awarded a winner by the 2025 Good Design Australia jury in Product Design.
It is a small wallet with a big task: to organise daily essentials without bulk. The jury’s recognition affirms our approach to function, material and quiet elegance. For you, it means proven design with independent approval.
Our History

2013
First cuts
After a single 4-hour leather workshop and crafting a humble coaster, nights and weekends turn into practice and refining leather craft.
Hand-cutting and hand‑stitching become a routine. Studying proportions and pockets, exploring a slimmer front pocket cardholder idea first emerges. Each prototype teaches where bulk hides and how to remove it.

2015
First market, first community
A small run of handmade Front Pocket Cardholders is introduced at the Brisbane Finders Keepers market.
A 1.5m × 1.5m stand, honest conversations, and real‑world pockets shape the work. Early feedback refines entry arcs, fit and the way a wallet slides into a jacket or jeans.
The appetite for a lighter carry becomes clear.

2017
Folding the idea
An in‑flight article on origami sparks a new approach to structure and access. The Bifold Cardholder takes shape with considered folds and minimal stitching.
Materials and finishing begin to standardise, finding a rhythm.

2019
Studies in carry
Sketchbooks fill with early studies for work and travel designs. We start testing proportions for bags and supporting items while keeping wallets front and centre. Small prototypes explore structure without weight.
A long view for Blackinkk starts to form.

2020
A quiet pause
The pandemic presses pause and we step back. Time with family and smaller, slower batches sharpen the craft. Patterns simplify, waste reduces, work improves.
We prepare for a return when it feels right.

2025
Return with clarity
We pick up the thread and focus on what lasts. The Bifold Cardholder wins the Good Design Australia award in Product Design.
Two new designs join the range: the Traditional Bifold Wallet and the Key Organiser.
Our evolution begins.
